Old Football pictures I never used

ISO: 1000  f/2.8  shutter speed: 1/250

ISO: 1000  f/2.8  shutter speed: 1/320

I took these pictures quite a while ago, obviously since they are football. I guess I forgot about them, and never put them on my blog or entered them in ATPI or anything. I was working on my portfolio and shoot out pictures and got Hannah to help me and she found these. We re-cropped the second one cause I didn't crop things very well at the beginning of the year. Im pretty sure I was using a 70-200mm lens for these.

Freshman Basketball

ISO: 1600  f/4.0  shutter speed: 1/250

ISO: 1600  f/4.0  shutter speed: 1/200

ISO: 1600  f/4.0  shutter speed: 1/200

ISO: 1600  f/4.0  shutter speed: 1/200

I took these pictures at the freshman basketball game last night. They were playing Royce City and were really into the game and and being very aggressive. The flashes at this game were driving me insane though cause for most every picture I took one of the flashes wouldn't go off. so annoying! I was pretty pleased with these pictures, but these were like the only ones that turned out. I am so not good at basketball and it makes me really upset. These are the best pictures I've ever gotten at a basketball game though. I was using the 5 camera! super exciting, and my first time to use it. I used the 24-105mm lens for all of these pictures :)

Downtown Buildings

ISO: 400  f/2.8  shutter speed: 1/8000

ISO: 400  f/5.6  shutter speed: 1/1000

I took these pictures yesterday right after school for a photo assignment for newspaper. I was told to get new buildings, old buildings, ones that have been redone, and just whatever I could find. The first picture is of Hopkins Icehouse because it used to be some feed store. You can even see the word feed and some other things that were left from when it was a feed house. I ran across the street to get this picture and stood on some random bench. The second picture I was standing in the same place as the first, I just turned around and got a picture of the grim from the back. I like how the sun is shining in from the top right corner. The third picture I have no idea what it is of, but I liked how the sun was coming in and shining on part of the buildings. I was having a lot of fun with the sun cause I was shooting during golden hour, and for the fourth picture I once again kind of liked how the sun was coming in. For the fifth and sixth pictures of the perot, I with that car wouldn't have been there. I was trying to show a kinda rustic building with a better looking one. The second to last picture I was trying to  get a view of all the building right together going down the street. And the last picture I actually took while in the car. My mom was driving and I was in passenger seat, and I just rolled down the window and snapped as we drove by. I used a 28-75mm lens for all of these pictures. I brought the fill light up a little on most of these along with the blacks. I had to straighten most of my pictures from this cause they were all pretty crooked.

The sweetest kids!

ISO: 800  f/4.0  shutter speed: 1/60

ISO: 800  f/4.0  shutter speed: 1/50

These were all taken in Costa Rica of some of the cutest, sweetest Costa Rican little boys. The first picture is of my cousin giving this little boy a cracker. It was so sweet, and the boy was very excited to get it. I like the expression on my cousin's face in this picture. The second and third is by this HUGE tree we passed. My grandma told our bus driver to pull over so we could get a picture of it, haha, but it ended up being kinda cool. My cousin was being himself and hanging upside down from the tree, I don't really know how he stayed like that, but my favorite part about it is the little boy that can't stop starring at him. The first one was while they were all trying to get in position, and the second one is with part of my family with a Costa Rican family that we were with that day. The last three pictures of are this band that was playing for us. They go to a really poor school but this program is really good cause it keeps them off the streets and from getting into all the drugs and that kind of stuff. They were all super sweet, and I loved the little boys, they were SO cute. Gees, I want to go back so badly! I used a 17-50mm lens for all of these pictures.

Choice Sheets

ISO: 800  f/2.8  shutter speed: 1/125

ISO: 800  f/2.8  shutter speed: 1/125

I took these pictures today for Mrs. Potter. She needed a horizontal picture of a choice sheet and course guide, so I had Hailey Woods pretend to be filling one out for the picture.  For post-editing, I brought the fill light up a little along with the blacks. On the second picture I used the brush tool on the left side of the white paper to bring the exposure down a little so you could tell what it is a little better. I used a 17-50mm lens for these pictures.

Los Animales!

We went on this boat river tour one day, and the only lens I had was a 17-50, so we had to be pretty close in order for me to get a good picture. We saw TONS of crocodiles, they were everywhere, swimming all throughout the river, and they told us that people went swimming in there! crazy!

ISO: 400  f/4.5  shutter speed: 1/400

ISO: 400  f/4.5  shutter speed: 1/400

There were also iguanas everywhere. They were so bright and colorful and big, nothing like ones here. I really like the second one of the iguanas because it was jumping.

ISO: 400  f/4.0  shutter speed: 1/500

ISO: 400  f/2.8  shutter speed: 1/1250

Then we saw this group of monkeys so we pulled the boat over and within like 5 seconds they were climbing on the boat and one crawled across me! It was sooooo cool, and they were all so cute!
ISO: 400  f/4.0  shutter speed: 1/1250

ISO: 400  f/4.0  shutter speed: 1/1250

ISO: 400  f/4.0  shutter speed: 1/1000

ISO: 400  f/4.0  shutter speed: 1/250

ISO: 400  f/4.0  shutter speed: 1/640

ISO: 400  f/4.0  shutter speed: 1/500

 ISO: 400  f/2.8  shutter speed: 1/500

ISO: 400  f/2.8  shutter speed: 1/640

ISO: 400  f/2.8  shutter speed: 1/800

Costa Rica was so amazing! I want to go back already! They had so many cool animals and just so much fun stuff that we don't have here. I cropped some of these pictures a little bit, and on the monkeys I brought the contrast and clarity up some. With the iguanas I brought the vibrance and saturation up a little. I was using a 17-50mm lens for all of these pictures. For a couple of the pictures I wish I would have changed the ISO to 200, because I ended up having to bring my recovery up quite a bit on a couple of them.

Heather!!!

ISO: 100  f/2.8  shutter speed: 1/1250

ISO: 100  f/2.8  shutter speed: 1/1600

ISO: 100  f/2.8  shutter speed:1/1600

ISO: 100  f/2.8  shutter speed: 1/2000

I took these pictures today of Heather Lanier. She is like the most amazing person I know! They are doing something about how she has used her faith to get through her father's passing. At first I had her by the pond and was taking pictures and after several minutes of taking pictures I realized I didn't have a camera card in my camera! So we hurried down to Smith's room to grab my card and we saw Haley on the way and she gave me hers, thankfully!  We then went to this big tree, and had her get against it. I shot it at f/2.8 because I wanted the background as blurry as possible to make it look less like school. I really like how in the first picture her hair is blowing in the wind. I shot with a 28-75mm lens. And post-editing the only thing I did was use the recovery tool because her shirt was a little blown. Heather was so nice and patient with me, especially when I had to go get a card!

HDR in Costa Rica

different settings

I took this picture in Costa Rica. I didn't have a tripod with me, so I set the camera on the fence thingy. I took like 7 different pictures, and then merged them all together in this program. I did that twice using grunge once and default once, so then I opened both of those in photoshop and merged them together using the overlay tool and taking the opacity tool. On the second picture I used default and another one I liked before putting them into photoshop to merge. There was this one picture I took that would be SUPER cool in  HDR, but i din't have a tripod or anywhere I could put the camera to get it :( I sued a 17-50mm lens for both of these pictures.

Zip Lining!

ISO: 400  f/4.0  shutter speed: 1/250

ISO: 400  f/4.0  shutter speed: 1/200

ISO: 200  f/4.0  shutter speed: 1/100

ISO: 400  f/4.0  shutter speed: 1/160

ISO: 200  f/5.6  shutter speed: 1/100

These are all pictures I took the day we went ziplining. It was a blast and WAY better than ziplining in the US! Their culture is so relaxed and more carefree than ours, so they let us go upside down, and do all sorts of crazy things. The first picture is of my older brother, and I really liked how it turned out. I liked how his feet looked in the picture, haha. The second one is of my mom, and I really liked the expression on her face in that picture. The third picture is of my cousin just being himself. He is always so crazy and does this kind of stuff all the time. The last two I liked better in black and white. The second to last one is my sister jumping up to get her harness connected to the cable. And the last picture is my favorite. It was some random person, and I liked how you could see the tree and sign, and the guy helping her get ready to go. I wish I wouldn't have cut the guy on the right out, but I still like this picture. I was using a 17-50 for all these pictures which made it a lot harder since I couldn't zoom in very far at all. It was all SO much fun though, and I already want to go back so badly!

Costa Rica!!

OWL BUTTERFLY!

ISO: 200  f/2.8  shutter speed: 1/1250

I took this on the day that we went ziplining. Everyone was riding horses to get up to the start of the ziplines, but since I'm allergic to horses, I had to stay behind and have someone drive me up there. While  I was waiting on my ride, this guy was showing me this butterfly. It's called an owl butterfly since it looks like an owl when it's wings are spread out. I thought it was really cool cause I've never seen anything like this, and I liked how this picture turned out. For post-editing, I brought the contrast up a little bit to make his wings look cool.

ISO: 200  f/ 5.6  shutter speed: 1/640

This was the view I got to wake up to every morning! It was sooooo pretty there! I took this one morning right before we had our breakfast. Everywhere you look in Costa Rica is just sooo pretty, I took so many pictures, but could have taken tons more if I would've had the chance. I took the vibrance up a little in this picture which made the water look really blue :)
